In Art Clubs we explore creating art with the guidance of professionals. The meetings focus on subjects such as writing poems, creating visual art, or practicing performing arts. At the end of the series of meetings, we’ll prepare a small ensemble, for example a performance or an exhibition. To attend, you won’t need any prior experience within arts. The most important thing is having fun while creating together.
The clubs are aimed at Oulu-based people over the age of 65, who are experiencing some sort of change in their lives or need some company and joy in their day to day life.
Art Clubs are free of charge, and mostly taught in Finnish.

Heta Haapsamo
“I’m Heta Haapsamo, a dancer from Oulu. My interest to art was awakened by pictures. My art studies have given me a strong basis for creating art. After this my path took me towards articulacy and dance studies. Later on I studied to become a masseuse. My interests have led me to work with the well-being of body and mind. They’ve also led me to find creative ways to meet and to be met with. In my work, I widely use the methods of dance and movement combined with visual art, improvisation and literary art.”
