Lumo Light Festival Oulu and Valve’s Urban Neighbourhood Culture invite artists and communities from Oulu to submit their proposals for the 2025 Lumo Area Program. It is also possible to apply for funding for the implementation of the area program outside the city center of Oulu.
“We hope that as many diverse communities and creators as possible will apply – the call is open to all kinds and sizes of implementations,” says Iida Salonen, the responsible producer of Valve’s Urban Neighborhood Culture.
“The goal of the Lumo Area Program is to bring light and experiences outside the city center as well. Previously, professional artists, schools and kindergartens, resident associations, and many other communities have participated.”
The Lumo Light Festival Oulu will be held from Fri 21.11. to Sun 23.11.2025 from 16:00 to 22:00. Area events should be scheduled during the Lumo Light Festival Oulu, but they can also be longer-lasting than the festival. Through the call, you can either register for the program or apply for funding for the implementation from €1 to €4000.
The selection criteria for the area program emphasize the following: experience, interest and novelty value, independent production and implementation method, realistic implementation plan and budget, suitability for the regional entity considering other selected programs, accessibility, and ecologically sustainable solutions.
